My Final Farewell is the brainchild of Alina Reed, who owns a virtual business support company based in Wellington, New Zealand.

Alina lost her father to pancreatic cancer, and lived through the experience of struggling to organise a loved one’s funeral without clear instructions from the relevant person. In an already emotionally draining time, Alina and her family had to wrestle with questions about her father’s wishes for his final farewell. As a result, she had the idea of creating a guide to prevent others (including her daughters and sister) from having to face the same pressure upon the passing of their loved ones.

Alina soon rallied her team of virtual assistants to support her in bringing her vision for My Final Farewell to reality, and launched the template in early 2023 with great success.

Resources and Grief Support Hub

We have also provided resources of other things you may like to consider when documenting your funeral wishes from having ashes in jewellery to keeping all your documentation in an online vault.

After speaking with many people following losing a loved one, we found that many felt they could not find the right support to help them through the grieving process. This prompted Alina to provide a comprehensive resource sharing all the types of support that there are from the more traditional counselling to holistic and spiritual, where to go to help with clearing out belongings, as well as providing self help tools and guidance for those supporting ones in grief.
